Bought and completed MGS4 last week - see, I do play other things!
15hrs 27 with cutscenes / 3hrs 57 without.
Im both stoked and disappointed. All the questions from the previous games have been answered and tied up nicely, but it seems to me that it wasnt worth the hype or the wait, to have less than 4 hours of gameplay time.
Yes, I raced through it and didnt pick up every item, and explore every corrider, yes there’s some replayability to gain new unlockables and titles, but tbh, now that the questions have been answered, I feel a little underwhelmed at the whole experience.
The game is now circling friends for them to complete, then Ill probably eBay it along with my PS3 which now wont be needed until Tekken 6 and SF4 come out next year.

Apologies for the lack of an update, real life had overtaken everything else in the past week!
Beastmaster Progress
The slog from 59-60 was enough to make me pack this in for a while. Only thing lying on really is to get my AF finished, which can wait. 59-60 was slow, and not having a duo partner it was particularly uninteresting. I’ve currently lost interest, I want it at 75, but there’s plenty of time.
Dancer
Dancer has been lots of fun, level 29 now but DNC is also on the back burner while I level some subs.
Subjobs
NIN37 at last - next up is WAR37, DRK37. To be honest Im a little FFXI burnt out at the moment, and 20-37 is relatively quick to pass so if I can get some subs levelled it should give me motivation to level something proper
Next?
Tarudin. Be afraid.

Dancer must be broken. I mean, I shouldnt be able to solo anything I want lol.
OK, slight exaggeration, but T’s and below - no problem!
Im also really suprised on the effect that Curing Waltz has on a party - outcuring the WHM in Dunes, not a problem at all - I actually regretted taking parties for the most part today because I could do better solo.
Loving DNC at the moment!

I really wanted to wear my Hauby, so I pushed for 59 in one session and got a bit burnt out, so taking it easy 59-60 over a few sessions, and taking my DNC through Dunes to relieve (lol) the stress.
59-60 Im staying in Toraimarai Canal, bats are now DC/EM, but every skele is a T now so it can help to move things along.
Im guessing Ule<tab> Range after I hit 60, but there’s now a few BST at this level who are out there so I dont mind taking a bit of time from here on in.

After leaving the pleasant (and thats the first time Ive used that word in the same sentence as) Garliage Citadel at 58, I ran through Ule{tab} Range and found it a level or so too high. Doable, certainly, but for an area Ive never been in, it was a little overwhelming.
Garliage may be doable for 58-59, but since Ive been to Toraimarai Canal before for my SMN AF, I figured it was worth a shot.

Loving killing mobs that drop coffer keys. So far two coffer keys, and two lots of gil: 7,150, and 12,100.
Decimation came down to GC to help me grab my first coffer key (three so far) and Im now the proud owner of my Beast Helm.
Just Beaudeaux and Eldieme next and I’ll have full BST AF.
I’ve geared SAM for either next job/job to do when bored with BST. Currently Im level 57 with 6200 to go. Garliage Citadel is flying by at 57, easier charms and still alright experience points.
Next stop: 58 and heading to Uleguerand Range. Never been there before, so Ill let you know anything that I find to share.
Take care.

Ive added split tags to keep the main page tidier, as some of the levelling spots require a bit of reading through and can become quite long.

Stay in Bost<tab> Oubliette until 56. 55-56 actually went pretty quickly so long as you dont mind grinding, and, to be honest, if you are this far in BST you obviously dont mind it!
I only saw one other BST here (58) but it was just a quick log in and log out. This is a very private camp if you are the only BST in your range, otherwise Id imagine that it will be a problem as it really only supports one BST at a time. There is a camp further east, but there’s really no safe place to rest like there is on the stairs.
OK - with me so far? Just dinged level 56 and you’d like your Beast Helm? Time for the legendary….
